Leading Change and Funding Solutions to
End Sex Trafficking
The Houston 20 Board and Junior Board are actively driving our mission forward by funding and supporting programs that provide trauma-informed healing solutions, help survivors regain independence, and reduce the demand for sex trafficking. They’re also deeply involved in advocating for and helping create new legislation that protects victims and holds traffickers accountable, ensuring lasting change in the fight against human trafficking.

The Houston 20 Junior Board empowers students and youth groups to join the fight against human trafficking by raising awareness, supporting survivors, and driving change in their schools, churches, and communities. Junior Boards give young leaders the chance to organize events, educate peers, and advocate for stronger protections for victims. Adults can also get involved by serving as mentors or coordinators, helping guide and support Junior Board members as they carry out this important mission.

THE JR BOARD
Houston 20 Jr. Boards are work closely with a Houston 20 Sponsor and a Parent or Faculty Team Sponsor to ensure consistency and continuity of the program. Each Board and their leadership is organized by the students to align with the structure and community of their school and members include girls and boys. Houston 20 provides awareness and education opportunities for individual clubs and for Jr. Boards to come together to network and meet nonprofit leaders.
Jr. Boards are asked to participate in the following during the school year:
-
Attend an orientation and training a session to lean about trafficking, the recruiting process and other vital information to assist with awareness.
-
Create and execute an awareness project catered specifically to their school.
-
Organize a fundraiser or supply drive benefitting a partner nonprofit.
-
Participate in the grant selection process by learning the role of philanthropy in the nonprofit world. Students interview nonprofit partners, assess grant requests and determine funds to be dispersed.
-
